Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 | Effective Date: 25/06/2026 | Last Revised: 25/06/2026

2.1 Account and Purchase Data
When you purchase a Subscription or Credits package, or create an account on RTK.ie, we collect the following personal data:
-
Full name
-
Email address
-
Company name (where applicable)
-
Billing address
-
Phone number
-
VAT number (where applicable)
-
NTRIP username (assigned at the time of account activation)
2.2 Payment Data
Payment transactions on RTK.ie are processed by Shopify Payments. Sentrinav does not store your full card details. Payment data including card number, expiry date and security code is handled directly by Shopify Payments and is subject to their privacy policy. Sentrinav only receives confirmation of a successful or failed payment transaction.
2.3 NTRIP Connection and Positioning Data
This is a category of data specific to the RTK.ie correction service. When you connect to the RTK.ie NTRIP caster using your Credentials, the following data is recorded automatically by our NTRIP management platform (Glopos) for each connection session:
-
The GPS/GNSS position of your rover receiver at the time of connection (latitude and longitude, as reported by your receiver via the NTRIP protocol)
-
Connection start and end timestamps
-
Volume of correction data consumed during the session
-
IP address of the connecting device
This data is inherently linked to where you are working at the time of connection. It therefore constitutes personal data and is treated as such under this Policy. We collect this data because it is technically necessary to operate and deliver the correction service, to manage user accounts, to verify usage against purchased entitlements, and to maintain and improve the Network.
2.4 Website Usage Data
When you visit www.rtk.ie, we automatically collect certain technical data about your visit via Google Analytics, including your device IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring website. This data is collected using cookies. Please see Section 9 (Cookies) for further information.
2.5 Communications Data
If you contact us by email or through any other channel, we will collect and retain the content of your communication and any personal data you provide in it, for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and maintaining a record of our correspondence.
2.6 Marketing Data
If you sign up to receive marketing communications from RTK.ie, we collect your email address and record your consent to receive such communications. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email we send you.
3. How We Use Your Personal Data
We use your personal data only for the purposes set out below, and only where we have a lawful basis for doing so under the GDPR.
3.1 To Provide the Service (Contract Performance — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR)
We use your account data, NTRIP username, and connection data to activate and manage your access to the RTK.ie correction service, to deliver Correction Data to your receiver, to verify that your usage is within the limits of your purchased Subscription or Credits package, and to send you credentials and service-related communications (including renewal reminders and expiry notifications).
3.2 To Process Payment (Contract Performance — Article 6(1)(b) GDPR)
We use your billing details to process payment for Subscriptions and Credits packages via Shopify Payments.
3.3 To Comply with Legal Obligations (Legal Obligation — Article 6(1)(c) GDPR)
We are required by Irish tax law (including the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997) to retain financial records, including transaction data and associated personal data, for a minimum of six years. We may also use your data to comply with other legal or regulatory obligations, including responding to lawful requests from public authorities.
3.4 To Monitor, Maintain and Improve the Network (Legitimate Interests — Article 6(1)(f) GDPR)
We use connection and positioning data in aggregated and anonymised form to monitor the performance and availability of the Network, to identify and resolve technical issues, and to develop and improve the RTK.ie service. Our legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable and high-quality correction service is balanced against your privacy interests, and we use the minimum data necessary for these purposes.
3.5 To Provide Technical Support (Legitimate Interests — Article 6(1)(f) GDPR)
We use your account data and connection history to diagnose and resolve technical issues you report to us. Our legitimate interest is in providing effective customer support to users of the Service.
3.6 To Send Marketing Communications (Consent — Article 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Where you have signed up to receive marketing communications from RTK.ie, we will use your email address to send you information about our services, updates, and offers that we believe may be of interest to you. We rely on your consent for this processing. You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email.
3.7 Security and Fraud Prevention (Legitimate Interests — Article 6(1)(f) GDPR)
We may use your data as part of our efforts to protect the security of the Service, detect and prevent fraud, and prevent unauthorised access to user accounts and the Network infrastructure.
4. Positioning Data — Special Note
|
Important: When you connect to the RTK.ie NTRIP network, your rover’s GPS/GNSS position is transmitted to and recorded by our service platform. This means Sentrinav and our NTRIP platform provider, Glopos, will have a record of where your equipment was located at the time of each connection session. |
We recognise that positioning data can be commercially sensitive — it may reveal where you are conducting survey work, the location of a client’s site, or the nature of a project. We treat this data with particular care and use it only for the purposes described in Section 3 of this Policy.
Positioning data is shared with Glopos (our NTRIP management platform provider, based in the Czech Republic, EU) as described in Section 5. Glopos processes this data to operate the NTRIP caster on our behalf and may also use it for the purpose of monitoring, developing and improving their platform services, as permitted under our agreement with them.
Positioning data is not sold to any third party, is not used for advertising purposes, and is not shared with any party other than those described in this Policy.
If you have concerns about the recording of positioning data in connection with a specific project, please contact us at info@rtk.ie before connecting to the Service.

6. International Data Transfers
Some of the third-party processors listed in Section 5 are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or process data on servers outside the EEA. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data in accordance with GDPR requirements.
6.1 Shopify and Google (USA)

We retain personal data collected in connection with purchases (including name, email address, billing address, VAT number, and order details) for a minimum of six years from the date of the transaction, in accordance with our obligations under Irish tax legislation (Taxes Consolidation Act 1997). After this period, data will be securely deleted or anonymised unless there is another legal basis for continued retention.
7.2 NTRIP Connection and Positioning Data
Connection logs, including positioning data, session timestamps, data volumes, and device IP addresses, are retained for up to six years, consistent with the contractual retention framework in our agreement with Glopos. Data is securely deleted or anonymised after this period.
7.3 Marketing Data
We retain your email address and record of consent for marketing communications for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we will remove your address from our marketing list promptly and retain only a suppression record to ensure we do not contact you again.
7.4 Communications Data
Correspondence and enquiry records are retained for a period of three years from the date of the last communication, after which they are securely deleted unless there is a reason to retain them for longer (for example, in connection with a legal dispute).
7.5 Website Analytics Data
Google Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google’s standard retention settings, which we have configured to 14 months. IP addresses collected via Google Analytics are anonymised before storage.

This right is subject to our legal obligations to retain certain data, including financial records.
8.4 Right to Restrict Processing
You have the right to request that we restrict our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, for example while we are verifying the accuracy of data you have disputed.

8.7 Right to Withdraw Consent
Where we process your personal data on the basis of your consent (including for marketing communications), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
